SERVICE

Tires are designed and manufactured with advanced technology and great care to provide several hundreds of thousands of kilometers of excellent service. For maximum safety, performance and service life, they must be maintained properly.

FENIXWAY will address these following factors relative to the care and service of truck and bus tires.

DO MAINTAIN PROPER INFLATION PRESSURE IN YOUR TIRES

Underinflation is the leading cause of tire failure and may result in severe cracking, component separation or “blowout.” It reduces tire load capacity, allows excessive sidewall flexing and increases rolling resistance, resulting in heat and mechanical damage. Over inflation increases stiffness, which may deteriorate ride and generate unwanted vibration. Over inflation also increases the chances of impact damage.

Proper inflation pressure is necessary for optimum tire performance, safety and fuel economy. To maintain proper inflation pressure, frequently (at least monthly) check tires (when they are cool) with an accurate tire pressure gauge.

NOTE: The following illustration is based on the recommended inflation pressure for the load being carried.

DO MAINTAIN VEHICLE SUSPENSION, WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND BALANCE AND ROTATE YOUR TIRES.

The purpose of regularly rotating tires is to prolong tread life and promote more uniform tread wear for all tires on a vehicle, particularly those showing signs of irregular or rapid wear. For typical truck tire rotation patterns, see the examples below.

Note that steer axle tires are normally rotated side to side and drive axle tires are rotated between axles or side to side. If tires show uneven tread wear, check for and correct any misalignment, imbalance, or other mechanical problems before rotation. For wide base single drive tires, rotation method 1 or 3 is possible. When tires are rotated, the inflation pressures must be adjusted for the tires’ new positions in accordance with the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendations; see the v

When tires are stored, they should be stored in a cool place away from sources of heat and ozone, such as hot pipes and electric motors. Be sure that surfaces on which tires are stored are clean and free from grease, gasoline, or other substances that could deteriorate the rubber. Tires exposed to or driven on these substances could be subject to sudden failure.

Stacking FENIXWAY tires too high could result in a safety issue and/or could possibly damage the bottom tires. New FENIXWAY tires should never be stacked higher than 3 meters (approximately 10 ft). This will allow the stacking of up to 8 new tires depending on the dimension.
