As a market-oriented brand, FENIXWAY always focuses on the requirements from its local partners. Around one year back, FENIXWAY engineering team received some requirements from some overseas partners. The end users are complaining that the mileage of normal brands is too low. Distributors/dealers are complaining that there is price competition every day. Homogeneous products from different brands caused the fierce competition and distributors’ margin is going to almost 0 day by day.

After receiving the requirements from the markets, FENIXWAY engineers had been working every day, collecting more information from different working conditions, to make sure that the upgraded product could be the most suitable one to the market. Some of the engineers went to the market discussing further with drivers & fleets owners. Finally, the engineers decided to make the following improvements on the new product:
1. Wider Tread: 19mm wider than normal design
2. Stone Rejector Design: rejector platform in the groove
3. Sidewall Protector: sidewall reinforced by 20%, and 72pcs steel cord on bead area. (normal design only 65pcs steel cord)

Thanks to the special design above, the upgraded product VALOR 99 can provide tyre users the following benefits:
1. The tyre could be retreaded for at least 2 times.
2. The total mileage could be increased by around 20% – 30%, depends on different working conditions. (this mileage doesn’t include the one after retreading)
FENIXWAY has been always strict on any new products to be released to the market. Before the tyres arrive in the hands of the tyre users, a lot of procedures were completed:
1. Drum testing & road testing.Preview (opens in a new window)
2. 100% X- ray checking
3. 100% balancing ability checking. (in case that some users will use this tyre on steer position, especially on off road application)
Around 6 months later, FENIXWAY team received the first feedback from the working field. As we expected, it is a very positive one.

 

The tyres were tested under a very tough condition, together with the second brand from Goodyear;
1. One-way distance: 117kms
2. Working Time: 3 times/day (117*2*3≈700kms)
3. Loading: 120% above standard
4. Road condition: 80% off
5. Vehicle Type: SINO TRUCK TR420 / HINO AK
The driver did a very good job, and he recorded the following mileage of different tyres:


Receiving the data from the truck drivers, FENIXWAY engineering team worked out the wearing mileage of each millimeter and cost per kilometer:


Since the mileage is almost double than the GD second brand, the fleet owner is more than happy with the testing result. But, this is not the end. After FENIXWAY tyre finished the first life, it’s going to be reborn. The fleet owner sent all the worn tyres to a retreading factory, and the tyres are going to serve the fleet again.

It is estimated that the retreaded tyre could deliver at least 50% mileage from a brand new tyre. Given together the high mileage and retreaded case, FENIXWAY is helping this fleet owner reducing total tyre cost by at least 30% – 35%.
Normally we won’t purchase the cheapest product when we visit supermarkets, because we all know very clearly that cheap products won’t be able to provide us high value.
